Live Long and Plant…
May 19, 2011
First off, sorry for the long absence! But I finally feel like now I am something to share!
So, I recently discovered that I did not inherit my mother’s black thumb (thank god!) and am able to not only grow plants but also keep them alive! And, living in Chicago, I realized that maybe my shady back porch isn’t the best place to try and grow my own veggies.
I’ve been walking around and discovering lots of places to start an urban garden and I am sure that there are so many other people like me who did not get a plot at any of the open gardens. So my question is- to anyone out there in the same debacle- anyone interested in starting an urban garden? I am so interested and not sure of the next steps and would love advice from anyone!
Basically any kind of gardening advice works too! I just finished my first twitter chat #seedchat and it was so inspiring! Drop me a line with any kind of tips/advice/anything! Dress ideas or recipes or sci-fi shows to watch are all welcome, too!
Looking forward to starting this!
Apple Cider Century!
September 27, 2010
We made it! Biked 100 miles yesterday with my husband, Todd. So what that I am having trouble walking down the stairs and using my pinky finger on my right hand…
- Tons of bikers everywhere!
Sign up for it next year! Best marked ride I have ever done! And the most beautiful. I wish I had a camera strapped on my head- leaves falling and the sun peaking through the trees- just gorgeous! Plus we saw a lot of cows, horses, donkeys, turkeys, chickens and a cat that decided to join the ride! And, the first 25 miles are literally like a roller-coaster- pedal pedal pedal up up up, and then fly down hill super fast! It was pretty great! Clocked 32 mph! You can sign up for next year’s ride here. See you there next year!

Despite a little hiccup with the tea and coffee yesterday, the show was amazing! It was so great to be working with such wonderful models, ballerinas, interns and of course my husband and parents who did pretty much everything! Thank you for coming out yesterday! It was such a great time! Here’s the video in case you missed it!
A huge thank you to Dean Paul for shooting the video! Thanks so much! Check out his amazing work: http://www.deanpaulphotography.com
